Confiabilidad 360° ends its 2026 path in Mexico

The first National Congress of Railway Systems, organized by Mexico's Instituto Politécnico Nacional, accepted Christian Mena San Juan's paper for an oral session. It takes place from 25 to 27 November in Palenque, Chiapas.

The organizing committee of the 1st National Congress of Railway Systems (CONASIFE 2026) accepted the abstract of the paper «Confiabilidad 360°: Interpretación sistémica de fallas ferroviarias en condiciones reales de operación latinoamericanas» (a systemic interpretation of railway failures under real Latin American operating conditions), by Christian Mena San Juan, general manager of Truck Energy, for presentation in an oral session. The congress takes place from 25 to 27 November at the Palenque campus of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, in Palenque, Chiapas.

It is organized by the Railway Engineering Academy of that IPN campus as a space for exchange and debate on advances in the rail sector, aimed at the public sector, the private sector and academia. This is its first edition.

The difference from an industry congress lies in the format: each paper starts as an evaluated abstract and becomes a full-length article, reviewed by a scientific committee through peer review. The proceedings are published with an ISSN, each article with its own DOI, and each presentation lasts fifteen minutes, ten to present and five for questions.

Mexico closes this year's path: Confiabilidad 360° set out in Antofagasta, took shape as a model in Lima, was put to the test in Puerto Iguazú and goes through Medellín, from 3 to 5 November, before reaching Palenque. Unlike the earlier stops, which were industry congresses, this one is an academic congress.

The title says where the concept went this year: from a single failure case to a systemic interpretation, and from the Coronel workshop to the real operating conditions of Latin American railways.
