From Coronel to Latin America: Truck Energy comes to Colombia
After Antofagasta, Lima and Iguazú, Truck Energy is heading to Medellín to take part in Latinrieles Colombia 2026, from 3 to 5 November. It is the second-to-last stop in a year of meetings and experiences shared with the Latin American rail community: the last one is Mexico.

More than 15 years ago we set out from Coronel, in southern Chile. Since then we have grown alongside our customers, taking on difficult problems and learning from every experience and, above all, from the people who know this trade.
Along the way we have worked on more than 3,000 critical assets and learned something fundamental: repairing a failure does not always mean solving the problem that caused it.
That experience gave rise to Confiabilidad 360°, an approach that seeks to understand the causes of failures, taking into account the equipment, its operation, maintenance and service conditions.
This year we shared this vision with rail professionals from several countries. Now we are coming to Medellín, where we will present a new talk and be there with our stand.
But we also want to share an initiative we are especially excited about: the creation of a free, collaborative railway library, where we can bring together the experience, knowledge and lessons of those who have devoted their lives to this trade.
Because we believe railway knowledge is not found only in books or professional degrees. It is also in the hands, the experience and the work of the people who keep the trains moving.
See you in Medellín, to keep learning and building together.
The 2026 path, stop by stop:
- Antofagasta, Chile. Latinrieles Chile, from 5 to 7 May. The first stop set out the underlying view: a different way of understanding maintenance, reliability and the role of companies in the rail industry. Issue No. 2 of the newsletter covered it.
- Lima, Peru. Latinrieles Perú, 1 and 2 June: «Confiabilidad 360°: interpretar antes de reparar» (interpret before you repair). The view takes shape as a model, with four themes: operational monitoring, advanced analysis, failure prediction and decisions that generate availability.
- Puerto Iguazú, Argentina. Latinrieles Argentina, from 3 to 5 September: «Poniendo a prueba nuestro método: Confiabilidad 360°» (putting our method to the test). The method is tested on a real case: an electrical failure in a traction motor whose origin lay not in the motor but in the operation. The talk is on video.
- Medellín, Colombia. Latinrieles Colombia, from 3 to 5 November: a new talk and the Truck Energy stand.
- Palenque, Mexico. CONASIFE 2026, the first National Congress of Railway Systems, organized by Mexico's Instituto Politécnico Nacional, from 25 to 27 November: «Confiabilidad 360°: Interpretación sistémica de fallas ferroviarias en condiciones reales de operación latinoamericanas» (a systemic interpretation of railway failures under real Latin American operating conditions). The congress accepted the abstract for an oral session: the concept, which started out at industry congresses, reaches an academic one. That is where this year's path ends.
