Confiabilidad 360° presented at Latinrieles Perú
The first annual congress of the Latin American rail industry, in Lima. Christian Mena San Juan presented the model with an uncomfortable argument: the failure does not begin where the motor burns out.

Latinrieles Perú 2026 brought the region's first annual rail industry congress and exhibition to Lima. Truck Energy went with a paper: Confiabilidad 360°, the engineering model the company developed for making decisions about critical rotating equipment.
The argument presented is not a comfortable one for the industry: Latin American rail engineering has learned to manage consequences instead of understanding causes. Historical failures get normalized, whatever burned out gets repaired, and then everyone waits again. The failure does not begin where the motor burns out: it begins long before, in operating conditions that can in fact be read.
The four themes presented:
- Operational monitoring. Measuring the machine in its real working condition, not on the test bench.
- Advanced analysis. Interpreting what was measured instead of filing it away.
- Failure prediction. Anticipating the failure mode before it shows itself.
- Decisions that generate availability. The whole point of the exercise: that the analysis ends in a decision and not in a report.
The paper was presented by Christian Mena San Juan, general manager of Truck Energy, electrical engineer and industrial engineer, IEEE member. The talk was given on the second day, at the Lima Marriott in Miraflores.
The model being presented outside Chile matters for a concrete reason: Confiabilidad 360° came out of the Coronel workshop, out of real traction motors from real operations. Taking it to a regional congress tests it in front of operators facing the same failures on other tracks.
