The Faculty of Engineering of Universidad del Bío-Bío held the fourth session of its External Advisory Council, the body through which the faculty brings its authorities together with representatives of the business sector to review how it trains its engineers. Truck Energy took part as one of the companies at the table.

The council is driven by the faculty's Curriculum Unit, and its purpose is for training to respond to the current and future challenges of the professional and productive environment. It is an outside view of the faculty's training processes and the graduate profiles of its degree programs: what industry sees is missing, said to the people who design the programs.

The session brought the faculty's dean and academic secretary together with school directors, coordinators and company representatives. The faculty presented its progress in undergraduate and postgraduate training, research and infrastructure, the work of previous sessions was reviewed, and new collaboration actions were planned.

For Truck Energy, it continues the conversation it opened with the same faculty in August, when the two met to explore an agreement covering degree projects, postgraduate programs and a workshop open to students. There the question was what a student can learn in the workshop; on the council it is the other half: what an engineer should know on leaving university.

The photograph is by the UBB Faculty of Engineering, which posted the session on its social media on 13 October.
