Heritage rescue of locomotive 1606
Moving a Ferrocarril del Pacífico locomotive out of the place where it had been abandoned. Cranes, a lowboy trailer and a full day to move something that had not moved in years.
Ferrocarril del Pacífico's 1606 had been standing still for years. Moving it is not workshop work: it is lifting, calculating support points and a special convoy by road.
Truck Energy takes part in rescues like this one because Chile's rail heritage is being lost out in the open, and because an old machine teaches things no modern manual explains.
